summer thursday

It was an absolutely beautiful day.

I fetched boxes from the garage for them to work on.

The younger brother wanted to eat lunch on the roof deck.  It was very pretty up there, butterflies in the Catalpa tree.
Later we walked up to the park.   The baby was the bigger attraction than the park.  He was so excited to put her in the grass and practice walking, and trying to make her laugh.

This fence, oh my goodness-- the posts rotted and broke off underground so the gate has dragged on the sidewalk for months when we open and close it.   It's so super obnoxious, especially when opening it while carrying other things, but we have persevered.

This afternoon was the day the replacement began.  Any messy, semi-terrible or even awful job, he's right there, undaunted.

first monday of summer vacation

We had a great day. The weather was gorgeous, the company easy going.

We walked up to the park.

Someone set a fire inside the tube. Good grief.

 Checking out the burned spot.

The end.

Looking forward to so many summer Mondays, you guys!

julia's solo

First year in band, first year at school, so glad you had the courage to stand up and join in this lovely, familiar piece of music, and so glad your sister recorded it so I could hear your solo since I had to work. Written in 1785?  Wow. Think about that, Jule.

Onward.  Life is good.  So much love, MOM
