vacation

It was perfect July weather, not stifling hot like last week.

These guys were here all the past week, and here he is relaxing in his bunk, absorbed in his tablet.  When my kids were little we did not have internet at the lake, so keeping them entertained was a real thing.   Now with tablets, they happily fill their downtime.  Rain?  Not a problem.

Good night.

more july 4th weekend

It all looks very sweet lake-time.

But it is parents counting heads minute by minute.

Every two minutes at the most.

Where are they 1, 2, 3, 4.

Where are my brothers kids?

1, 2. 3.

Lifeguarding is hard and tiring.

These parents are here, breaking up fights, catching the brave as they jump, wiping the eyes and noses of the dunked.

They apply sunscreen and pass out snacks.

It's hard work.

july 4 weekend

It was a great, fun, wild, hot weekend, full of kids and sunshine, blistering heat.

Patience and air conditioning were our friends.

July?  You little old devil? Bringing us to the edge of our sanity?

Keep it up and you will regret it.

(That's the blanket threat for when you have nothing good at hand to threaten with, but it sounds intimidating, and it does keep options open.)

Not sure I love you, July.

Try to shape up.

Love, Val
