happy seventh birthday!

Here it is, the ice cream cake!   What a wonderful year this has been. So many good things have happened, and it has been so much fun having your for our kid.

I hope pretty soon you'll be speeding all over on your new bike.

on the beach

Little Jay and I walked down to the beach to view the wedding location, so we all know where to be at 7:45 am tomorrow.   He's as sweet as always.  Wedding is at 8 am.

Later, a little past sunset, we made our way to the beach.  We had only Tim, Kari, and Julia with us.  Tim and Kari had never been to the ocean before today.

They're big now, adults. Even Julia will be eighteen in July. 

But they are still my babies.

The ocean was impressive, incoming tide, big noisy waves, gorgeous--pink and gray.

There was a small crab who took one look at those guys and ran like the wind up the sand dune.

It was ethereal and beautiful and so glad it happened.
