jay skiing

Love, Val

a fine sunday

They were cooking the fish they caught.  The guy in the blue shirt asked me quite directly, "How do people know what animals taste so good?"   I didn't even know what to say.  This is a first experience of a direct connection with this, not meat from a package.   I told him I didn't know how sunfish can be as tasty as they are.
And the tubing. And the fighting.  Yup, always arguing.

Lots of spotters

 There she goes!

The sun finally came out.   Photos continue to be chopped off on the right side. To see any picture as it should be, click on it.

Jay returning

These flowers are so festive, growing in the ditch.  I found a scissors and cut a bunch for a bouquet, but they were drooping within an hour!  Not suitable for cutting. Better just enjoy them in the ditch.

another adult in the house

It was Tim's birthday.  I asked him if he had any requests for a meal? What would he like to eat?  He pondered a minute or two, said he didn't care, and then suddenly said, "Chicken Divan."

He's in luck! I know how to make that.

Blogger is still clipping all the photos off on the right hand side.  If you want to see any of them, just click on the photo.  I hope they fix this soon.

Back to school looks a little different this year, so new flannel sheets and a bedspread.  He said he does most of his school seated in the family room, but this is going to be a fall much like last spring.

Kirsten stopped by with gifts too
New shoes and scratch offs, since he's 18 now.

Cake time!

 Happy Birthday my dear!

It's been a pleasure these past eighteen years, so much fun, so much laughter, such crazy ideas you used to have. We were entertained every day.

Becoming an adult, a high school senior in these strange pandemic times is very, very weird.

But you're doing great.

We love you incredibly much.

Happy Birthday, Buddy,
