happy 80th dad

Three of us were there, distanced, outdoors, and masked.

Eighty years of you though, Dad?

Lucky little old us.

happy birthday, dad

It was a perfectly gorgeous day.

This is where the child told him he had a bald  spot and small boobs.

There you go.

Due to social distancing, we didn't get a picture, but here's one from last year.

Here it is, another milestone birthday, and so glad to have enjoyed this beautiful day at the lake with you.

Happy Birthday!

With love for always,  Jay and Val and Everybody

a few more

at the lake last weekend

 We had a good time.
These guys are working on that stump.
 My good buddy:

They don't social distance all that well, but we did make a point to STAY OUTSIDE.  It's the most manageable thing we can consistently do.

blooming catalpa

I love this huge shade tree, but it is THE messiest darn thing at intervals.
Right now we're dealing with this. That's my car, my patio. The flowers have a sweet, heavy smell, like old fashioned bath powder.

I love June.

after the storms

It was a pleasant little rumbly storm, no big wind, a little lightening, enough thunder to concern the dog, but exactly the kind of storm I enjoy.

It was hot, so hot, so stuffy and humid here in the room at the desk. The air conditioner was turned off because we can't run the air and the washing machine in the basement at the same time. The internet is also on that circuit and I can't have that cutting out when I'm working.
So the fresh breeze was welcome and then a little while later, as I waited on the phone for a guy to find some information, I noticed the light, the perfect after-storm light.

After we hung up,  I ran outside and took these pictures.

Alicia sent this a little later a photo taken in her back yard, a shared love of strange light and clouds.
Sweet June.

Alicia?  I love you.
