last day of january, 2021

We finally shaped up and got to work on our taxes, did all our month ends for the year.

This is from last night. I searched all over for this recuperating dog. She's on light activity, no running or jumping. Where in the world has she gone???  Well, on my third pass through the room I came far enough into it to see more than just Jay's head. There she was, perfectly fine.  She's so big she can get onto the sofa without jumping.  We're good.

Kari's request for supper tonight: Tortellini Soup. Delicious.

And that's the end of January.

Wow.

Onward.

a happy day

Dan borrowed them his big trailer and we loaded it up and moved the last of their things to the new house.
This was at Maria's while we were loading the trailer.
Dan and his father are discussing something.
This cool guy got moved too.
Checking out the guinea pigs Dash and Bolt.

And this pretty girl loves her new house too.

What a great day.

Onward.

happy birthday, girl!

I hope it was a wonderful day because there's really not much better in the world than being SIX!
You are in this family like sunshine, so funny and loud, so full of energy and ideas.

We love you like crazy.

Thanks for being ours. The whole family is better because you are in it.

Love, Grandma and Grandpa and Everybody

I'm told this picture was taken at 7:15 am and she wondered why her brothers weren't awake to begin the celebration.

Tired.  Sleeping.

She took them breakfast in bed to wake them up.  You do NOT want to sleep through this day!

happy birthday, jay

Sixty-one years old tomorrow!

We had a small celebration here tonight, unlike our past family birthday parties.

It's ok.

He still attempted to guess his birthday gifts and ripped them open with his teeth, even though there wer no kids here to scream and holler.

We had an ice cream cake, peanut butter, only option in the freezer at the grocery store. It was great.

He did not breathe upon the cake in pandemic, swatted out the candles instead.

Jay?  Thanks for all the ways you show up and love this family. We are incredibly lucky having you.
We are hoping for a great year.
Love, all of us

sunday

We spent the afternoon with these people.  It was fairly warm for January, and the sun was bright.  John built a fire.

Jay and this little girl in the green coat are birthday buddies, and he was delighted when she was born on his birthday, loves sharing it with her.  She likes the idea too.

She's going to be six on Tuesday and is losing teeth like crazy.  It's so much fun.

saturday

Elin is feeling good, not limping, doesn't seem to be in any pain, even without medication.

She has to have follow up x-rays in February to check healing, but so far, so good.

We talked about working on our taxes, but ended up doing this, which tells you everything you need to know about how much we love working on taxes.

quiet winter

Driving to Heidi's this morning, the clouds looked like mountains, pretty morning.

The plants started growing.
Distance learning:
A little painting--
She's so excited about her character here, the little purple ears, which I agree are unexpected and so very cute.

And this quiet week with a most welcome celebration on tv all day yesterday, cruising into the last week of January, whew.

people i love

These guys. We were over there today in the afternoon,  socializing outside.

This photo was taken last week of my sweet Miss O.

And her brothers! They argued and tussled, fell off their lawn chairs, climbed on the roof of the doll house. Dan said they were annoying.  Probably they were, but their squirrely goofy selves were so welcome to me.

Aww. You kids have a good week.  I love you.   Grandma, and Grandpa too
