welcome, little girl

You, the much awaited little sister, born today.

We all are so happy you're here.

This big sister is asleep in a nest beside us, and another big sister is just upstairs.  Your oldest sister is at your own house, staying with Aunt Kirsten.

We are so excited to meet you, Peanut.

a glorious boat ride

We all headed out into this beautiful morning.

Took the dogs with us because they like to go too.

This dog ate a ton of Kirsten's dogs' food. She's so skinny and nitpicky about food, we didn't stop her. Eat, Girl!   Well. She got an upset stomach from all that darn dog food, and

yeah.
This happened.

She couldn't help it. She was so sick.

Yes, you darn dog.  That's why their shirts are over their faces.

Then we went back to the field again before we made lunch and headed home.

apples to apples

Julia said the game was a living hell.

Well.  They were a little squirrely.

She wanted me to help her play, so I did.  I read her everything because she is only three, but she made all the decisions and she WON.  She won!   She made some very questionable choices and I wondered if she even knew what she was talking about, but that's okay.

Before it was over, this guy was laughing his head off.  I couldn't even get a clear picture, he was so wild.

After cards, we sent them to bed with their tablets for a little while--to calm down.

They weren't happy about the beds they were in, but we told them, once the little girl is asleep you can switch around.  But then this guy was asleep, so they gave up and just went to bed. When I checked them in ten minutes they were all sound asleep.

What a great Saturday.

the 100 foot slide

This is the kid who did NOT want to go on this stupid slide.  While we walked over to it, he was bitching mightily to Jay about how he wanted to go to the corn maze, but had to do THIS first and WHY?

(He's a talented ranter.)

"They'll probably want to go down it twelve times!"

Jay told him, "Maybe thirteen!"

He hollered, "Infinity! That's what they want!"

Jay basically told him: It's life-you go with the flow the best you can, even when you don't want to, we all have to.

Well, he warmed up to this slide and went down it way more than thirteen times, though less than infinity.

After supper we had a campfire and marshmallows.

And then it was time to play games.  Love, Grandma and Grandpa and Kirsten, Tim, and Julia

more pumpkin patch

We took the tractor ride through the woods.   When the driver came to collect our payment tokens, we had none. We didn't realize we had to pre-pay, or even pay at all.  Jay said we'd pay when we left, which we did, but he just waved us through.

It was flowing landscape of ripe pumpkins:

Along the way were hunting decoys planted for kids to look for. The bear wasn't a decoy, it was a carved tree trunk, and there was a fuzzy, giant tarantula stapled to a tree.

These bouncy horses start out pretty good, but the bounces get higher each time until they're flying through the air by the finish line.

They played in this bounce house for a very long time.

Julia waiting in the spider web while they bounced
These tractors were very fun also.

Very fun afternoon.  Love, Grandma
