franconia sculpture park

I was on PTO last week for a few days, and we dragged our butts to this place.   It's outside, not too covid-y or people-y.

Plus it is fun.  The sculptures are intriguing and so many different artists have contributed to this place.

This x in the distance is HUGE close up.
Okay, this is my favorite.  I could have stood there for an hour watching the curtains in the breeze, something about it so beautiful and soothing.  Kari suggested we build a structure like this in the field. (Three stories high?  How much fabric would that involve?)

Oh yeah, her.  It was so nice to spend time together.
Onward.

Nothing but love,  Val, aka Grandma, aka MOM

Those are Kirsten's beautiful fishing trip photos.

Here's Maria teaching chess to a couple of kids.

I hope it was a good birthday, nice to not have to work for a few days.

happy birthday, dan

It was a nice evening to be together.  I was glad I'd taken the night off and could spend it with you.
Gifts!
That child in the middle is a neighbor kid.
Forty-one candles!
The new way we put them out in covid times.  It definitely works.
This was a sad birthday though.  It is hard to say good bye to a good old dog.

It's good she had that last fun weekend at the lake--never knew things were going to take a turn so quickly.

It's been lovely knowing you, Sweet Bella, the barking at airplanes and tearing the swiffer sheet off the swiffer in a mad frenzy, all the silky feeling of you in our arms, pointy nose and pointy chest, tiny paws.

Love and peace to you, old friend.

Daniel, Happy Birthday. I hope the next year is full of wonderful days and can't wait to see what's next.

Love forever and always, Mom and Dad

Oh my goodness.

more weekend

These flowers by Dan and Alicia's cabin also grow in the ditches.  One year I cut a big bunch for a vase, and they wilted within minutes, and are just not flowers you can cut and put in a vase.  I had no idea. They must be enjoyed where they are.

Last spring had an impulse purchase of flower bulbs, gladiolas.  They're blooming at the cabin and at home and they're beautiful.  It was an experiment that actually turned out.

These guys posed to wish my sister a happy birthday. It was her birthday yesterday, beautiful woman that she is.

Some game--our family maybe shouldn't even play games because of the arguing and cheating.

A tablet break:
