ready for thanksgiving

Of course we have to deal with the things we've been putting off, like this wobbly toilet.

It wasn't leaking, not that big of a deal, but it is fixed now.

We've vacuumed and dusted and removed all kinds of ridiculous things like the six paint cans that have been sitting under the dining room table for weeks.   I put my goodwill bags in the car, see how long they get drove around before I make it over there.

Pbbblt.  Life.

But we are ready, looking forward to seeing everyone.

grandparent day

Tuesday was grandparent day at his preschool.

He didn't see me at first waiting in the hall, but the way his face lit up when he did.

Oh my heart.

"Grandma!  What are you doing here?"

He showed me all around his room, and his locker, and all the good toys, the puppets, the musical instruments.

When his parents arrived he looked shocked and then burst into tears.

No, no, they are not taking you home.  They're here to play today too.

There were crafts and coloring, treats and music.
This is a crazy bowling game.  I told Dalton no wonder they had to touch up the paint.

The kids loved it.
So sweet.

Buddy, you are delightful.   Love, Grandma

mole

I texted these pictures to Joe.

"What is digging in our yard?"

He knew.

I love these surprising wildlife sightings right here in town.

What the heck?

We haven't seen him, but doubt we ever will.

That's okay.

He may be gone.  It didn't even look like anything had changed after that one day.

basketball season

Youth basketball does not change, and it's just as much fun now as it has ever been.

It's fun to see their teams and notice the dynamics between the kids and the teamwork develop.

This was a tough game against a much bigger team, but they hung in there.

This girl is able to make the most of her scrappy side. She loves playing defense and she's pretty good at scoring points too.

They did not win, but they played their little hearts out.

This game was a fierce battle and the outcome was unknown until the very last seconds of the game.

Glad there's a lot more to come this winter.  Love you kids, Grandma and Grandpa

And this guy, having the time of his life playing at college. XO
