an old unlabeled disk in the desk

Love, Val

other people's vacations

They were in Florida and were generous with pictures.

I love vacation photos, even if they aren't mine.

The kids were texting pics and it was nothing but fun.

These guys were in California. That's their niece. She's growing like crazy.

And this? Always one of the best parts of vacation is coming back home again.
I love you all, MOM

the olympic program

There was singing and after that, games in the lunch room.

This is the long jump.   Our little girl is a great cheerleader.

Balance beam

It was a fun night.

I love you girls, Grandma and Grandpa

the end of march

It was warm and beautiful last weekend and some guys wanted to come over and play.  The yard is a bit muddy, so the boots were very smart.
I made a pan of taco dip and the baby LOVED it, was gobbling it up by the handful.  We got him his own bowl and Maria found him crackers. Tortilla chips seem hard for a little guy to chew up.

This was from lunch on Monday.    He and Grandpa have become buddies.

Here they finally have the Monster Truck program on the TV. The older kid loves to watch this with Grandpa and they can have it.  It is so mind bendingly boring, honestly.  But they love it.

The girls and I were laughing, noticed that while they watch this together, they chat.

"Oh, he's going in the ditch now.   Look out. He's going to be on fire."

"That tire is coming right off."

Etc. etc.

It's okay.

Nothing but love, Grandma and Grandpa

A pic from preschool this week:

spring break monday

Tim and the girl in the blue shirt were on spring break last Monday, so we had lots of people to hang out and amuse the little guys.
She can add Baby Wrangler to her list of talents and skills.
This nosy cat doesn't like to miss a thing.
This crazy-ass thing was completely assembled, took hours and hours. What a project.

Joe sent this dog bed over for Dani.  She likes it, sleeps about half the night in it, especially if the window is open where she can catch a breeze.

But this is where she has a way of ending up, sprawled across us.  I put this old comforter on the bed because of her scratchy claws. I don't want her damaging the nice comforter Maria gave us.
Lots of love, Val

this weekend

We finished the first step of getting our taxes done.  Next week I can do the rest and then we'll meet with the accountant.

This guy was super interested in it all.  I sent the pics to my brother, said they should have been accountants.

He kept getting more and more in the way until Jay kicked him out.  Oh my.

Lion King was a hit.
And a sleepover:
They were very sweet, and the evening went by fast, just like how they're growing up in a flash.

With the snow overnight they were here until the afternoon today.  Jay made a big cabin breakfast and it was a pretty perfect Sunday.

After many, many hours, this is nearing completion.
Onward to Monday.

Love, Grandma
