We spent the afternoon with these guys.  The little one kept letting this dog outside, and we kept letting her back in again.

It's cold out today!

Yeah, you!

Today though, she said all our names and was downright chatty, sat with Grandpa on the couch and watched the Olympics, very sweet.

This one was working on her desk and set me up with some fancy coloring books and markers, and we kept company while she cleaned.  She shared her mango candy and it was pretty nice.

 

And this person in the cutest Snoopy t shirt was peaceful and nice, told me she loved me when I left.

When we got home homework was in progress.

And now it is almost bedtime and tomorrow is Monday.

These guys were here last Monday.

That little baby is so pretty and sweet, but see that coffee table in the photo with Dani?

It came from Maria's house and she brought it here.  I love it, but that baby has a vengeance on it. First he pounded it with a matchbox car real hard.

No, no, no.  Not a good idea.

Then he climbed on it multiple times.

Again, bad idea.

THEN? He got underneath and pushed that heavy plate of beveled glass up with his feet.

!!!!

Okay, no.   All done. Be all done.

Jay and I carried that thing out to the living room.  Seemed like the safest idea.

We're going to take it out of there again tonight, in preparation for the morning when they'll be back.

Hahaha, you little devils.

It was one of those nights where it is bright as day outside, muffled and everything is golden and pink.

We haven't had very many of those nights this year.

This one is starting over without even having to be put through the months in the closet.

This was from the science fair.  Our student did an admirable job.

Basketball from last week.  The tournament happened last weekend and their season is done for the year.

She taught us a new card game and it was pretty fun.  We enjoyed it.

And that's the end.   Tomorrow is Monday and it is 50 degrees out and that's nothing but sweet.

It was fun to surprise you last night.  It's always fun to be together.
 

We hope today was a wonderful birthday and the year ahead is amazing too.

We appreciate your sense of humor and ambition, the soft spot you have for little ones.

You've brought us so much happiness these last SEVENTEEN years.  How lucky we all are.

a bear in the toilet

 These are the guys who brighten every Monday around here.

This is the story from a couple weeks ago though. The child said he couldn't go potty because there was a bear in the toilet.

Seriously?

What is the meaning of this?

What bear?

It was a puzzle piece with a bear's little face on it.

Removed, washed and dried.

All is well.

But I'm still laughing about this.

I love kids.

Born over 120 years ago and today is her birthday.  She's been gone since 1998, I think.

These photos are from 1981, taken in my mother in law's cheerful kitchen.
 

Here they are, Mama and her Mama with the little ones reading a story.   Dan and that thumb, so sweet, and Little Grace like a big baby doll next to him, all on top of each other in a row.

Oh my goodness when I say love extends backward and forward in time, this is exactly what I mean.
