open to interpretation

Dressing up can mean more than one thing, true.

You go, Girl

a football game

Made it to this guy's game last weekend--beautiful morning, and fun to see you play, Buddy!

a weekend

We took Elin on a walk in the woods.
It's so pretty in the field.

The fall colors this year are all goofed up by heat and drought.  Some have lost all their leaves while others are still green.   It's still pretty, but just not like last year when all the planets and stars aligned.
These days of early darkness create some gorgeous cloud situations.
Our little ghosties:
This stairway landing was a lot of measuring and weird cuts, but it looks great. The goal is for imperfections to be not distracting--not that they don't exist, but that they don't distract.

Under the fridge (which was pronounced dead today by an appliance repairman) and under the stove, which slipped back into place so easily with those special slides put under the corners and a new, longer cord.

Good night, such a lovely weekend.

Love, Val

happy birthday, sweetheart

It was lovely to spend time with you two this weekend.

I know this is a strangely busy fall, but I hope your birthday was a lovely day.

We love you incredibly.

Happy Birthday, love, Mom and Dad and Everybody

our favorite antique store

Kari would like a new bed, so Maria and I hit the Restore store--nothing, only queen and twin beds, and then went to the antique shop. Some beds, big, heavy, dark, not sure all the pieces were there, nothing that looked like anything Kari would want.

There are always weird things there though.  I asked Maria  what this is and she speculated a person would play music and a rattlesnake would pop out.

Hmm.

I asked if she meant a cobra?

Yeah, whatever, we don't know snakes all that well, honestly.

getting there

This refrigerator was not cooling. Warm mayonnaise, a freezer full of thawed, drippy food--it all had to be thrown away, very sad and very wasteful.

Will call tomorrow and schedule an appliance repair person to have a look at it before we throw it away.
