pops concert

The pops concert is always a favorite. This year was pretty toned down, no weird costumes or other foolishness, just good music and a peaceful night.

This is the last pops concert.  Julia has done well with that French horn, very nice.

Into the future, Jule.

Nothing but love, Mom

happy birthday, james

It was a nice little party, pretty great for a Wednesday.

Ah yes, the cake, and how fast can the candles be blown out?
Very fast.
James, thanks for being ours, for all the happiness you've brought us all these many years.

In the whole world, there is only one you.
Lucky little old us.

Happy Birthday, with love for always, Mom and Dad and Everybody

more march, plus chickens

More snow, and more expected this week.

Chickens are doing well over at Heidi's.   Only one has died, and that was very sad.

Onward.
Love, Val

Happy birthday you amazing twelve year old!

She shouted the loudest cheer of all!
Chickens are doing well, kicking and digging.
This little maniac on the swing:

What a great night.

Happy birthday!

We hope the year ahead is all kinds of wonderful.

march!

For a while the light had a very February slant to it, but this week it has changed and the days are longer and damper, and there's a spring feeling about it.

The snow is shrinking down and the ice everywhere is treacherous.

One night inspiration hit and this guy was brought from the cupboard for his few weeks of celebration. The kids think these little guys are terrifying, but they remind me of some very touching people from the past and weird looking or not, I love them.

Onward.

In less than a month it will be spring, and then April, and then Easter, and soon this winter will be done.

Love you, Val
