more may

It was a beautiful day, warm and bright.  They went outside to play and I thought it was great.  Then they threw buckets of water on each other.

Okay, now.  It's not that warm out.

Then they came in, soaking wet, looking for new clothes.

This little one, still soaking wet, sneaked downstairs to the office where her mother was working.
Heidi looked at her all wet and wondered what was going on.  The child had one question:  "When will it be Thanksgiving?"

????

!!!!

What is going on here, and where is Grandma?

Bahahahaha.   Oh my goodness.

And this baby somehow tore her socks off while in the swing. See the socks there in the dirt?  She loves it when I toss a ball at her feet and she attempts to kick it, deep belly laughs, fine appreciation.

A girl in her happy place, water, a little dirt, a warm afternoon:
Last night the sky was phenomenal while I was driving to Target--a mundane errand, this beautiful sky.  I texted the photo to Alicia.
She hadn't missed it either, texted me this picture back:

And tonight Dannell's dad is in the hospital with sepsis, fighting for his life.

He's in good care tonight. They're working on it.  Hoping for good news overnight.

Love, Val
