I was touched by this moving birthday note from Kari.

Here were were at ihop this morning. She wanted to go out for breakfast, and we'd never been to this place before, and she ordered all those pancakes, plus eggs, and bacon.  Jay talked her out of the eggs, and no she was not able to eat all those chocolate chip pancakes with the raspberry syrup.

Then she spent the rest of the day swimming in this insane little pool, having a blast.

 This is p.j.'s little sister, looking very wide-eyed today.

 Here she is and a safety plan was figured out for this pool which was determined that we must drain it down to about six inches deep when the kids are done using it, so that she can't get any independent little bright ideas and go jump in unsupervised.   She's agile in the water and it's only chest-deep on her, but we don't trust her.

And that bring us to the end of a very fine 11th birthday
