And last evening Frankie showed up to be babysat. He belongs to a friend of Maria's and we're babysitting for the week.
He's wiggly, hard to get a good picture of, so snorty and funny. Elin was in heat earlier in December, though we think that's over now.
Well.
Frankie thought she was the most beautiful woman of his dreams and could not keep his overly enthusiastic paws off her.
She wanted to play. He wanted a lot more than playing. She tried to make herself small down to his size and he mounted her head.
That's when she growled and shook him off her, "Can you please NOT?"
Today he was more contained, less obnoxious.
So here are all my girls in a row. p.j. is filling in for Heidi.
Here's the dad that cooked all evening while I was working. Cheesy potatoes and 7 layer salad are ready, cheese and sausage sliced.
He delivered cooky plates to the neighbors:
This little one was here yesterday and again this evening:
And her sister. They were tired yesterday afternoon. An old friend brought lunch and we spent hours hanging out with the babies and talking. Curious George played, and they snoozed.
She stretched out between us on the couch.
And that's the end of that.
Thankful for old friends who find my company worth seeking out.
Thankful for a funny puppy come to visit.
Thankful for Kirsten to be home for Christmas.
Tomorrow is our family Christmas party.
Life is nothing but good.
Love, Val, aka Mom, aka GRANDMA
