spring monday

It was a typical spring break kind of day--too muddy and cold to be outside, but so much energy inside the house.  Plus there's a winter storm dodging around us, and the weather feels unsettled.

Everyone was restless and distracted.  We tried to find things to do, but their attention span was nil.

We put in the movie Little Rascals, and they watched part of that while the man repaired the washing machine.

Collages--normally an activity that can keep people occupied for a couple hours--lasted a few minutes.

He spent some time reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

We exhumed the old relics.  I thought this would keep them going for a good while.  Nah, ten minutes.

Anyway, soon enough it was 3:20 pm. The baby was up from her nap and time to bring out the video games. They were happy until the end of the afternoon then.

And here tonight!  Jay and I went to Walmart before bed and bought this fine PINATA for Easter!!  I filled it with candy, shook it this way and that to get candy into all the prongs.   A few years back I had to hide the pinata in the trunk of my car because they kept sneaking their little hands into it and swiping all the candy.  Now I think they're more civilized.

We'll find out.
Tomorrow is supposed to be 50 sunny degrees and kids are coming back.

Onward.

Love, Val, aka Grandma
