painting weekend

It was so cold last week, like 30 below zero. The windows were all iced up.

The sunset was beautiful.
We've been watching Tidying Up, the new Netflix show, and it's pretty fun.  But then it caused me to look around and I'm always cleaning the kitchen, over and over, and it still doesn't feel all that clean.

Well because of things like this:

 Chipped paint, scuffed walls:
But I love this kitchen.  It definitely sparks joy all the time in my life.  So should probably take care of it.

Paint was purchased--Birch White for the walls, Ultra White for the woodwork.  Whatever you do, do not paint the walls and trim the same color white. For some reason, it looks terrible that way.

Ta-da--fresh entryway:

I even cleaned the pan cupboard and got rid of unused pans so these others can fit in there again.  All the kids have been painting little birdhouses on cold, boring days.  There's a whole row of them on the stove.

Where the birds are, of course.

Just kidding.  I don't know what we'll do with those. Something to think about.

This cooky jar was a wedding gift to Jay's parents:
Aww, these two definitely spark joy in the kitchen.
 Absolutely they do.
Onward to a new week.

Our little baby is on track to go home at some point and we're excited and scared and grateful and all the rest.

Love, Val
