baking experiment

We went over to their house to help with creating the data for the baking experiment.  The day before they had baked  eight batches of cupcakes, all the same chocolate birthday cake flavor, but only one of the batches used eggs like the recipe called for.

The other batches were made with different substitutions for the eggs, things like applesauce, bananas, peanut butter, carbonated water, and a couple others I can't think of.

Our job was to sample the cupcakes and give our best guess as to what egg substitutions were in them, and also if we could identify the ones made with eggs.

We were about 50-50 on our guesses.

Others have guessed.  They have to use all this to create charts and data to present at the school science fair.

Seems like a LOT of work.

We hadn't seen this puppy in a few weeks and she's grown taller.   She's learned a bunch of tricks which was fun to see.
Here's the only picture I took of the experiment.  Cupcakes were cut in fourths on each plate and color coded.
This little rascal was after Jay, licking his hair and all over his face.

Oh, puppies.

Thanks for making a cold Sunday afternoon such a nice time.

Love you all, Grandma and Grandpa
