october

It was a beautiful weekend, warmer on Sunday.
Collages!
These two stayed with us to enjoy the afternoon. Their brother had to leave early for a birthday party. They're easy company, quiet on the ride home.
Volleyball last week, an away game in our own neighborhood.  That's Julia all blurry in the middle.

It was a close game, went all the way to the end, to the last few points, very suspenseful.
This is what I found upstairs.   They identify the beds by nicknames.  This big bed is the cowboy bed because of the bedspread, an old one from Lands' End I bought at a thrift store almost twenty years ago.

The bottom bunk is the one player bed.   Tim called twin beds one player beds back when he was little and the name stuck.
This bed is known as, "the bed by the air conditioner."
This lovely bed at the Flop House Motel is known as The Crouton.  It's a futon, but that means nothing to the child who named it.  Croutons, she knows about.  Kids like this bed. Adults hate it.

And here we are back home again on Sunday night.

Onward to Monday.  Love, Val
