totally tuesday

It was a fine Tuesday.
Here she's walking on that pretend laptop she loves.  She works on that laptop, does a lot of typing and talking.

I see that doll corner in this picture though.  We should deal with that.  Too much stuff, and nobody plays dolls anyway.

It was 54 degrees here today--no kidding, in January.  There's really no snow.

It's like a March yard, mud and defrosting dog crap.

Disgusting. When I realized, I made them stop playing, and the little guy had to come inside entirely.

It's cleaned up now. I pay $5 for half a bag of poop.  Don't try to fill the bags. They will rip.  Get another bag.

The clean up cost me $47.

That's okay though, it was worth it.

The dogs were muddy too, the little crappers.   Sam found the only bit of snow she could to get her belly on to cool off.    She was actually panting from running around.

And yeah, Tim's wearing shorts.  Outside, in January.

Okay, this guy had to have his coat and pants washed, so Julia found him a pair of sweatpants to wear.  They were too big, so I found a stretchy headband that could go around the waist like a belt to hold them up.

I told John this when he called and he laughed, "Oh yeah, that's how it goes."

So true. Same old story: March = kids, dogs, mud.

January returns on Thursday though, expected high of 13 degrees. That's going to feel like 40 below. But we're tough. We can do it.

Tonight Jay and I went to the overpriced mall we normally avoid, looking for a gift for our new grandson. Gymboree and Baby Gap are pretty ridiculous, but it's not every day someone gets born.

And that is the end of a very fine Tuesday.

2012, you're starting out pretty fine.

Maybe me and you are gonna be friends.

love, Val

  1. I CAN NOT BELIEVE that sweet little baby is already walking! Y'all are having a southern winter. Lightly frozen muddy ground and 50 degree days with an occasional flower blooming here and there. We are so hoping for some snow this year. Love, K
