zoo: september, 2013

These pictures were taken in the conservatory.
Koi

Did a fish touch your finger, p.j.?

The wedding chapel always make me think of our niece. She was married here a few years ago.

This is a group of kids similar to the header on this blog.  The little one in the pink coat is now the tall one in back on the right.

Flamingos and ducks:

This is the original zoo building, "Zoological Society," dated 1934.  When I was a kid, they actually housed animals in those little, nasty cages.

Those were some miserable-looking hyenas, and I'm not even kidding.

When a kid feels sorry for a hyena, that tells a lot.

Reindeer:

Looking for the tiger:

Giraffes:

Ostrich:

Zebras:

That lump against the glass is a little orangutan sleeping with his hand wrapped around the top of his head.

And then we came home.  In the middle of all the groceries waiting to be put away, she's working on art, some creation inspired by the zoo.  She taped it to the wall over our bed a little while ago, and it is pretty beautiful.

Onward.  This Thursday is far from over.

Love you guys, Mom, aka Grandma
