apple orchard

We had this whole blank day, and yesterday I was determined we not waste it.  Days like this--good weather, free time, far too rare.

So we hatched a plan to head to an apple orchard and found this one online, and this morning drove out there in person.

Dannell and her guys joined us and it was a really fun day.

Dannell told me an entire goat came out of the back of this car.

???

Perplexing.  We have no idea how goats are transported, but apparently in this case, in a mini van.  I suppose it's not that surprising. Sam is as big as a goat and she travels fine in a Toyota.

This was a hay maze.  It wasn't very complicated, really.  No kids could get lost or scared.

And it smelled amazing inside and the sound was muffled like snow will do.

Back to the goat and the mini-van:

Here they were heading to pick apples.

And after we ate, we went on a hayride before heading home.  This guy turns out is a son of the owners, grew on on this farm.  He was funny and friendly and sweet, maybe twenty years old?

It was a beautiful day, not a moment wasted.   October, you amazing, beautiful girl.    love, Val
