okay, make me cry
Last weekend I sewed baby blankets, and this is the note Little Olive's grandpa sent me today.
I KNOW SHE THANKED YOU FOR THE HAND MADE BLANKETS. IT WAS SO NICE OF YOU TO PUT YOUR HEART AND SPIRIT INTO THAT. IT WILL COVER A LITTLE CHILD. THANKS FOR BEING OUR FRIENDS--YOU AN JAY ARE THE BEST. I WILL TELL A STORY: MY MOM AND GRANDMA MADE ME A QUILT WHEN I WAS 9 FOR MY GOLDEN BIRTHDAY AND I NEVER SLEPT ON IT. IT WAS ONLY FOR SPECIAL TIMES. WHEN I WENT TO NAM SHE PUT IT ON MY BED TO PROTECT ME WITH THEIR SPIRITS AND IT WORKED. I MADE IT ANY WAY. A STORE BOUGHT WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED. IT HAS TO COME FROM A FRIEND TO PROTECT THE KIDS. MAYBE DOES NOT MAKE SENSE BUT IT DID TO ME. THANKS.
They're our next door neighbors--twenty-two years living side by side.
They'd do anything for us, and I know because they have.
love for always, Val
