the birthday girl, in a photo handily swiped from elsewhere
it was the usual party, pretty fun
this guy isn't even in a high chair anymore
these parties get a little loud
getting ready to sing. maria baked this fine looking cake.
I hope this next year is as incredible as the past year was. We love you so, Val

Thank you for the lovely party! A beautiful night, lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteI got Gus into that contraption on my back yesterday, he seemed relatively pleased with the situation for about 45 seconds. Then... not. ;) I've been reading though, and people say not to get discouraged with babywearing around the time when they're learning to walk. There's a distinct developmental stage where they JUST WANT TO BE DOWN, getting into trouble, learning to walk, all the time. I'm hoping when Gus is through that stage, he'll love being worn again, because I miss the snuggles. And bonus, it's much easier to keep an eye on him when he's on my back. ;)
I didn't think of that, but it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI know kids rode around in that pouch of ours until they were well over two... when they'd get tired. He does not follow you around demanding to be held all the time, yelling, "Uppie!" but there were a couple who did.
It'll be interesting to see if he returns to his former snuggly self once he masters the walking challenge. love, V
