On Friday, we headed to my aunt and uncle's farm to pick up a tractor.
When my uncle told me a few weeks ago that Jay had bought a tractor, I was real annoyed. "Where did Jay get money?"
He laughed, "I don't know! I didn't ask that. Free delivery, Val!"
Well, as it turns out, this is my grandpa's tractor, that's why Jay wanted it.
So we went to Roger and Anita's and the guys loaded it on Roger's big trailer and chained it down.
He drove it up to the lake, about an hour from their place, and dropped it off in the field. He even replaced the tires on the front with some truck tires that actually hold air.
Here they are, in a picture handily swiped from my cousin's wife's facebook page.
While the guys loaded this beast up, Anita and I had over an hour just to ourselves, sitting on the deck in the shade, while the kids and p.j. played with her cats. She fed the kids crackers and cheese and we fetched the red licorice from the van, and she made kool-aid, and I can't remember the last time we had just the two of us.
With thanks and love always, Val and Jay and everybody
